Yusuf Mr. Parikshit Goswami ...for the State The petitioner submits that he holds Permit No. P.St.P 54/05-06 in respect of a town service bus bearing registration no. WB-41C-4083. The original permit holder was Bimal Kumar Pal, and the permit was transferred to the petitioner by virtue of a Board Resolution of the Regional Transport Authority, Purba Bardhaman, dated January 2, 2023.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that the permit remains valid until August 11, 2025. He submitted a representation before the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Purba Bardhaman, on July 21, 2025, seeking renewal of the permit. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, despite receipt of the representation, the concerned authority has not taken any decision regarding the renewal.

In view of the above, there is no justification to keep this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Purba Bardhaman, to consider the

petitioner's application for renewal of the permit and take an appropriate decision within two weeks from the date of communication of this order.

If necessary, the petitioner shall be afforded an opportunity of hearing and permitted to submit all requisite documents.

Accordingly, WPA 17348 of 2025 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
