The petitioner was the owner of the brick field. In respect of issuing quarry permit in favour of the petitioner the petitioner filed W.P. No. 27176(W) of 2006. A Co-ordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 5th February, 2007 directed the respondent authorities to consider the representation made by the petitioner. Subsequently local people raised objection against running of such brick field. In view of such matter, a modified circular came to be in force with effect from 29th September, 2000 issued by the Joint Secretary, Government of West Bengal. The petitioner has challenged the said circular and the order passed by the D.L.& L.R.O., Burdwan on 23rd May, 2007 which was passed in pursuance to the order dated 5th February, 2007 in W.P. No. 27176(W) of 2006. Even on the initial date of hearing of the instant writ petition the petitioner did not appear. He never appeared to

place his case before this Court till date. Therefore, the instant writ petition is dismissed for default. (Bibek Chaudhuri, J.)
