The petitioner claims that private respondents have encroached on his land.

The private respondents claim that the land is being used by the entire village and religious activities are performed there.

There is a civil suit pending before the Jurisdictional Civil Court, filed by the villagers in this regard seeking declaration in respect of the land. This Court is of the view that dispute between the parties are civil in nature and the police have no role to play in the matter. The parties may pursue civil remedies.

Hence, the writ petition is disposed of without any further orders.

There shall be no order as to costs.
