Upon hearing learned counsel for the parties, it transpires that the prayer made in the present writ petition is innocuous. A contempt application bearing MA 975 of 2011 filed by the present petitioners in connection with OA 1985 of 2010 (LRTT) is pending for an inordinately long period before the Tribunal. 3.

Accordingly, WPLRT 122 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, Fourth Bench to dispose of MA 975 of 2011 as expeditiously as possible, positively within two months from the date of communication of this order to the said Tribunal. It is expected that thereafter, the Tribunal shall make endeavour to dispose of the OA, bearing OA No. 1985 of 2010, itself as expeditiously as possible, preferably by the end of December, 2025.
