Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows.

The University authorities have raised objection to the issuance of admit cards for sitting in the 1st Semester examinations on the ground that required requisite number of classes for the semester were not undergone by the students. However, there is ample material to show that requisite number of classes were undergone. A physical verification of the records would make this amply clear. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the University submits that in such event, the University is

agreeable to hold physical verification at its campus in South Calcutta tomorrow, i.e. on 20.07.2024 between 10.30 to 2.30 hours.

For balance of convenience and in the interest of justice, the students/petitioners shall be at liberty to visit the campus for physical verification of their records, accompanied by college authorities.

In the event the records are found satisfactory the University shall issue, if necessary, manually provisional admit cards and/or registration document for the students to be able to sit for the examinations. With these observations, the writ petition is thus disposed of.

Let a plain copy of this order duly counter signed by the Assistant Registrar (Court) be given to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertaking. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
