In view of pendency of the criminal proceeding being G. R. Case No. 2220 of 2018 before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Howrah, Gun License of the petitioner cannot be renewed at this stage. The petitioner may reiterate his request for renewal of license after conclusion of the aforesaid criminal case. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
