1. The petitioners has filed this public interest petition to take action against the miscreants by illegal felling of trees from the Government land.

2. The learned advocate appearing for the State submitted that the Forest Department has already taken action against the illegal felling of trees.

3. We direct the concerned authority of the Forest Department to ensure that the action taken against the miscreants is taken to the logical end and all of them are brought to books.

4. Apart from that, the bit officer of the concerned area periodically go on rounds to ensure that such offence is not repeated. The miscreants who have done the illegal felling of trees should not be spared and even if it is the private land, an appropriate action taken to be in accordance with law.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
