The writ petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that despite being listed at serial no. 5, as a land loser entitled to employment under exempted category since August 2018, the petitioner has not been given employment.

It is submitted that a large number of vacancies are available in various departments of the State, inter alia, being the District Primary School Council, Barasat. A communication has been addressed to the respondent no. 5 without any result.

Counsel for the State appears and submits that the petitioner is indeed in the list under the exempted category under the employment exchange entitled to employment under the exempted category. It is submitted that in the event of vacancies, the petitioner would definitely be considered for employment. It is denied that there is any vacancy available as on date.

With a direction upon the respondents to absorb the petitioner against available vacancy, the writ petition is disposed of.
