The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023.

Allegation is that there has been serious malpractice at the time of counting. Complaint was lodged before the Panchayat Returning Officer on 12th July, 2023.

According to the provisions of law, the prayer for recounting is required to be made on the day of counting, prior to declaration of result.

The same not being done, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant case.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
