The petitioner is aggrieved by the alleged inaction of the WBSEDCL in processing an application for new connection to operate the petitioner's submersible pump. Learned counsel for the WBSEDCL hands over, to counsel for the petitioner, copies of two communications dated June 23, 2023 and July 3, 2023 made by the WBSEDCL to the petitioner seeking certain further information/documents to enable the WBSEDCL to ascertain feasibility of giving such connection. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is agreeable to comply with such formalities. Accordingly, WPA 17788 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the petitioner to furnish the documents, as sought by the WBSEDCL, to the respondent authorities within a week from date.

Upon such documents and information being furnished by the petitioner, the WBSEDCL shall give a new electricity connection to the petitioner, subject to compliance of all other formalities as required by law, within a fortnight from compliance of such formalities by the petitioner.

The learned Advocate for the WBSEDCL shall hand over the copies of the documents, which are filed in court today and kept on record, to his counterpart appearing for the petitioner during the course of the day to enable the petitioner to comply with such formalities. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
