The daughter-in-law of the petitioner, namely, Jhumur Bhunia was an Assistant Librarian (Senior Scale) at Acahrya Prafulla Chandra College of Commerce (presently known as Naba Barrackpur Prafulla Chandra Mahavidyalaya), who unfortunately had died in a road accident. Her husband, son and all other family members, had also died in the said accident.

The petitioner has obtained a Succession Certificate in respect of the estate of her deceased daughter-in-law. She has applied for release of all service benefits of her deceased daughter-in-law. The college has forwarded the said claim to the Director of Public Instruction, Government of West Bengal, Education Directorate, Higher Education Department, the respondent no. 2 herein.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the claim of the petitioner could not attract the attention of the said respondent till date.

The respondent no. 2 is directed to consider the said claims of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

W.P.A. 17716 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
