Petitioners are aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities as the information which was furnished to the Inspector-in-Charge, Kharagpur (Town) Police Station was not acted upon. Petitioners allege that the private respondent no.6 deceived the petitioners by committing that he would provide a job at the Food Supply Department and to that effect misappropriated a sum of Rs.11 lakhs and thereafter handed over a forged document using emblem of the Government of India.

State has submitted a report which reflects that Kharagpur (Town) P.S. Case No.377 of 2025

dated 13.08.2025 has been registered for investigation under Sections 420/509 of the Indian Penal Code.

There are allegations of forgery and the documents are in possession of the petitioners. Accordingly, the investigating officer of the case would seize the documents from the petitioners and will not understate the sections in course of the investigation of the case.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 17614 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
