Mr. Anand Keshari Mr. Sarthak Mondal ... For the State The petitioner is in custody for more than 4 years and renews his prayer for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. Bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down by this Court on 6th May, 2024. By the said order, this Court directed the learned trial Court to conduct the trial by fixing two to three days schedule at short interval and conclude the same at an early date preferably within two years from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. This Court is informed that the next date fixed for evidence after the said order was passed was on 17th June, 2024. Therefore, the time frame fixed by this Court is yet to expire.

Considering the material on record, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

Learned trial Court is directed to adhere to the time frame fixed by this Court vide order dated 6th May, 2024 and conclude the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

The application for bail is disposed of.
