Dr. Madhusudan Saha Roy ... for the CESC The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the failure of the respondent CESC Ltd. in not providing a separate meter to the premises of the petitioner.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he is residing at the said premises with two other brothers and though the brothers have separate electricity connection. The petitioner has not been provided with any separate electricity connection.

Pursuant to earlier orders of Court, a Report dated 25th August, 2025 is already on record. It appears from the Report that there are already two separate existing meters, which are serving the premises and the demand for third meter amounts to splitting of load, which is impermissible.

In view of the Report filed by the respondent-CESC Ltd.

and the inspection

undertaken by them, WPA 17639 stands disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to file a Report before the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) to consider the case of the petitioner in accordance with law.

It is expected that concerned GRO would dispose of the said representation within four weeks from the date of filing. It is made clear that there has been no expression in the merits of the case and all issues are left open to be decided by the concerned GRO in accordance with law.
