Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that, despite having applied for a new electric connection, the WBSEDCL is sitting tight over the matter.

Upon hearing learned counsel for the parties, WPA No.18939 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the respondents to take immediate steps for disposal of the petitioner's application for new connection in accordance with law and to intimate the outcome of such decision to the petitioner in writing.

It is made clear that the entire exercise, if not already done, shall be completed within a fortnight from date.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
