Mitra ...... for the State Petitioner is in custody for 149 days. He submits there is no direct evidence connecting him with the murder. He prays for bail. Learned lawyer for the State submits petitioner had motive to commit the crime. Incident occurred at his residence. On his leading statement weapon of offence was recovered. We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner had an affair with co-accused Afrin Khatoon. Victim-deceased Abinash Kumar Jha was her former lover. Petitioner and Afrin Khatoon hatched a conspiracy and did away with Abinash Kumar Jha. On the leading statement of the petitioner weapon of offence was recovered.

In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials and the gravity of offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected. (Gaurang Kanth, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
