The petitioner has filed this public interest writ petition on behalf of the Panchayat Samity alleging misappropriation of funds by the Executive Officer of the Kharagpur - II Panchayat Samity. Since representation was not disposed of, the writ petition has been filed.

The learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents/State has submitted a report by the Block Development Officer of Kharagpur - II Development Block, Paschim Medinipur dated 4th August, 2023 enclosing para-wise statements of facts to the various allegations made in the writ petition.

At this juncture, we cannot examine the disputed questions and all that we can do is to direct the District Magistrate, Paschim Medinipur to send an appropriate reply to the writ petitioner in response to his representation dated 12th July, 2023. Upon receipt of such reply, it is well open to the petitioner to work out his remedies in accordance with law. Such reply shall be sent to the petitioner within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of server copy of this order. 4.

With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of.
