The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in connection with Joynagar Police Station Case no. 1185 of 2016 dated 06.09.2014, although charge sheet was submitted within a reasonable period of time but till date charges have not been framed and on 23.06.2022, the learned Trial Court fixed date on 7th August, 2023 for charge. The learned Trial Court has fixed the last date after 14 months. The State has also not opposed such prayer.

Accordingly, the learned Trial Court is directed to complete the process for consideration of charge on 7th August, 2023 or within a month thereafter. In case after consideration of charges, the learned Trial Court is of the opinion that the trial Court should proceed in such circumstances the trial court would fix at least one date once in a fortnight so that the trial of the case would come to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR No. 2760 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is consequently disposed of. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible. ( Tirthankar Ghosh, J. )
