The petitioner seeks family pension. She is the widow daughter of a deceased primary school teacher. The petitioner claims to have made a representation dated August 7, 2023 (Annexure P6, p.29) before the District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), Purba Medinipur, but the same is alleged to be kept pending till date.

Learned advocate representing the State submits that there is no proof of service of the said representation in the office of the DI of Schools.

Without going into the merits of the petitioner's prayer as she claims that her representation is pending consideration before the DI of Schools, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), Purba Medinipur to consider and dispose of the petitioner's prayer for grant of family pension in accordance with law at the earliest, but positively within six weeks from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order

shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

If the petitioner is found entitled to receive family pension, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken forthwith.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation dated August 7, 2023 along with all documents in support of her prayer to the aforesaid respondents at the time of communication of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
