The petitioner retired as a Guest Lecturer of Panskura Banamali College, Purba Medinipur on March 5, 2023.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that he was entitled to the status and benefits of the State Aided College Teacher, Category - II, with effect from January 1, 2020, but the same had been denied to him. The petitioner places reliance upon a circular dated December 23, 2019 issued by the Higher Education Department of the State. It appears that the petitioner has made a representation before the Director of Public Instruction, West Bengal by a letter dated March 1, 2023 seeking the benefits as aforesaid.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that till date the said representation has not been considered.

In the above facts, I disposed of the matter with a directive upon the Director of Public Instruction, West

Bengal to consider the representation of the petitioner dated March 1, 2023 as appearing at page 44 of the writ petition within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order in accordance with law. The Director of Public Instruction shall be at liberty to provide opportunity of hearing to all concerned.

With the directions as aforesaid, WPA 17904 of 2023 is disposed of.

Parties shall act upon the server copy of this order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
