Petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that they had been cultivating the land but presently are being resisted by the private respondent no.4. To that effect, information has been furnished to the Superintendent of Police, Paschim Medinipur as well as the Officer-inCharge, Kharagpur Local Police Station. State has submitted a report. Report reflects regarding the enquiry has been conducted by the police authorities. Police authorities, as such, are well aware regarding the dispute between the petitioners and the private respondent no.4. To that effect, General Diary Entry No.798 dated 12.07.2025 has been drawn up. There are issues relating to land-inquestion. Police authorities have limited powers to exercise.

Having considered that there is dispute and difference between the petitioners and the private

respondent no.4, police authorities will only interfere in case there is violation of law and order and the same is blown out of proportion.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 17736 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
