The grievance raised in this public interest petition is that the respondent no.7 i.e. Pradhan of Hiranandapur Gram Panchayat has awarded contract without inviting tender. It is specifically alleged in the petition that none of the tenders were published in the widely circulated newspapers, notice board of the Panchayat, Block Office, Zilla Parishad or even in the website.
When the matter is taken up today, learned counsel for the petitioner has pointed out that a mass representation dated 22nd February, 2022 in this regard has already been made to the respondent no.5 i.e. Block Development Officer, Manikchak Development Block and thereafter further representations were submitted, but no action has been taken till now.
Learned counsel for the State has no objection if the petitioner's representation is considered in accordance with law.
Hence, we dispose of the present petition by directing the respondent no.5 to duly consider the mass representation dated 22nd February, 2022 in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
