The petitioner, a practicing Advocate of this Court, in this public interest petition has raised the grievance that there are large number of residents of Gangaprasad Gram Panchayat under Kaliachak-II of Malda district who were getting the benefit under Indira Awas Yojona (IAY) and they are entitled to conversion as beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojona. But the said conversion has not been done.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has pointed out that a mass representation dated 20th June, 2022 in this regard has already been filed before the respondent no.6 i.e. Block Development Officer.
Learned counsel for the respondent no.7 has disclosed that the same issue had come up before the
respondent no.7 and the communication has already been sent to the respondent no.3 i.e.
District Magistrate, Malda.
Since the respondent no.3 is already in seisin of the matter, therefore, we permit the petitioner to file a detailed comprehensive representation in this regard before the respondent no.3, who, on receipt of the same, will duly enquire into the issue and take an appropriate decision in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of such representation. The petition is accordingly disposed of.
