1. Petitioner is the father-in-law of the victim lady. Petitioner is in custody for 172 days. He is not the principal accused. He prays for bail.
2. Learned lawyers for the State opposes the prayer for bail.
3. We have considered the statement of the son of the couple recorded under Section 164 of Cr.P.C. He alleges his father i.e., the husband assaulted the victim lady.
4. Keeping in mind the extend of complicity of the petitioner in the alleged offence and the period of detention suffered by the him, we are inclined to grant bail to the him.
5. Accordingly, the petitioner shall be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.10,000/- with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jangipur, Murshidabad subject to the condition that the petitioner shall appear before the trial court on each and every date of hearing until further orders and shall not intimidate witnesses and/or tamper with evidence in any manner whatsoever.

6. In the event petitioner fails to appear before the Trial Court without any justifiable cause, the Trial Court shall be at liberty to cancel his bail without any further reference to this Court.
