Mr. Rafikul Islam Sardar ...for the petitioner Mr. Imran Ali Ms. Debjani Sahu ...for the State This is an application seeking expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which a charge-sheet was submitted under Sections 323, 354 and 448 read with Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

Let a copy of this application be served upon Mr. Imran Ali and Ms. Debjani Sahu, learned advocates, who are present in Court today and who ordinarily appear on behalf of the State. Their engagement may be regularised in due course by the competent authority of the State. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is an accused in this case. Although the First Information Report was lodged on 13.02.2019 and a charge-sheet was submitted on 29.03.2019, till date the proceeding could not be concluded. Although charges were framed, evidence could not be started. However, the petitioner is

on bail.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that no inordinate delay has been occasioned in the proceeding.

I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioners and the State and have perused the revision petition. It does not appear that there was any laches on the part of the learned trial Court in conducting the proceeding. As such, no direction need be passed in this regard.

However, it is expected that the learned trial Court would conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties.

With these observations, the revisional appilcation is disposed of.
