Earlier, on behalf of the State, a report was submitted on 4th August, 2025 which reflects that Karaya PS Case No.

188 dated 18.07.2025 was registered for investigation under Section 79/351(3) of the BNS. Subsequently, Sections 66C, 66E and 67 of the IT Act, 2000 were incorporated.

The police authorities are working on the issues so far as the investigation is concerned.

However, so far as the main grievance of the petitioners regarding circulation of the obscene pictures which were hurting dignity of the petitioner no.1 and her family members is concerned, steps have been taken by the added respondent, namely, Meta Platforms INC.

From the written instruction which has been submitted by way of an Affidavit it reflects that further circulation is presently not being made from the account which was the genesis of the activities for which the criminal case was registered for investigation.

In view of the changed circumstances, I am of the opinion that further pendency of the writ petition is unwarranted. However, the investigation of the case which is at Karaya Police

Station would continue for taking the investigation to its logical conclusion.

In case, there are other issues so far as the circulation is concerned, the petitioner would inform the investigating officer of the case who would take steps in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 17785 of 2025 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.

Written Instruction by way of Affidavit filed on behalf of the petitioners be kept with the record.
