This writ petition has been filed as a public interest litigation alleging felling of trees, which are standing in the irrigation land, which according to the petitioner is government land. In this regard representation has been made to various authorities. However, concerned Forest Department has not been addressed in the matter. Therefore, we direct the writ petitioner to submit a representation to the concerned Divisional Forest Officer along with copy of the earlier representation and all its annexures and a copy of this order by appearing in person in the office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Purba Medinipur and upon receiving the representation, the concerned Divisional Forest Officer shall conduct necessary enquiry, ascertain the correct picture and take action in accordance with law.

This direction shall be complied with within eight weeks from the date on which the petitioner submits representation by appearing in person in the office of the Divisional Forest Officer.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
