Let the affidavit of service filed by the petitioner be kept with the records.

It is submitted by the petitioner that he resides on the first floor of a premises situated at Manoharchak, Dakshin Darua, Contai, Purba Medinipur. It is alleged that his mother-in-law and sister-in-law, who reside on the ground floor of the said premises, have disconnected his electricity connection.

Learned Advocate appearing for the WBSEDCL submits that the meter from which the petitioner was earlier receiving electricity supply is still active. However, in view of the dispute between the petitioner and respondent Nos. 6 and 7, the petitioner has been advised to apply for a separate

electricity connection. It is submitted that the petitioner has filed an application for a separate electricity connection and has deposited the requisite charges. It is further submitted that, in the absence of assistance from the police authorities, WBSEDCL is facing difficulty in effecting such connection.

In view of the above, the writ petition being WPA 17893 of 2025 is disposed of by directing WBSEDCL to provide a separate electricity connection in favour of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from date, subject to compliance with all necessary formalities.

WBSEDCL shall be at liberty to seek police assistance from the local police station, and the cost of such police assistance shall be borne by the petitioner.

Accordingly, WPA 17893 of 2025 stands disposed of.
