The grievance raised in this public interest petition is that about 250 bighas of wetland at Chotto Paresher Bheri situated in Dhapa Manpur Mouza is being illegally converted from fishery to the agricultural land.
The record reflects that the petitioner in this regard has recently made a representation dated 01.08.2022 to the Secretary, East Kolkata Wetland Management Authority. After filing the representation, sufficient time has not lapsed, therefore, the petitioner is not justified in approaching this Court hurriedly without waiting for the outcome of the representation.
Be that as it may, since the representation is already made by the petitioner, therefore, the concerned authority is expected to decide the said representation expeditiously.
The public interest petition is accordingly disposed of.
