Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners complains that the petitioners are facing threats of dire consequences as they had taken the onus of resisting certain illegal activities relating to heritage structure. To that effect, information was furnished. Petitioners' main anxiety is relating to insecurity which they are facing. To that effect, information was furnished to the local police station, but proper steps till date has not been taken. Consequent to which petitioners are still under anxiety and agony.
In view of the representation which was submitted on 22.07.2025 with the Superintendent of Police, Malda, I am of the opinion that the Superintendent of Police, Malda through his authorised officer will conduct an enquiry and take steps for assessing whether there is threat perception which has been complained of is genuine and in case he finds the same to be genuine, he would take steps in accordance with law.
With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 17918 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
