Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. He submits bail prayer of the petitioner was rejected in May, 2022. Charge has already been framed.

We have considered the materials on record including statement of the victim girl. His bail prayer was rejected in May, 2022. Trial has already commenced.

In view of the aforesaid developments and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Trial Court is directed to conclude the trial at an early date bearing in mind the statutory mandate under 35(2) of the POCSO Act. ( Ananya Bandyopadhyay, J. ) ( Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
