Status report is placed on record. It appears from the report that the trial is at the fag end. Cross-examination of I.O. is in progress.

In view of the aforesaid fact and the gravity of the offence and as prayer for bail of the petitioner was rejected earlier on a number of times, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, we request the trial court to conclude the trial at an early date preferably within six months from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Bivas Pattanayak, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
