The State of West Bengal Adv. Satadru Lahiri, Adv. Syed Wasim Faruque, for the petitioners.

Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioners is for expeditious disposal of G.R. case no. 5020 of 2019 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Additional Court, Basirhat, North 24 Parganas, the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite party. The opposite party shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the evidence is concluded and dates for hearing argument are being fixed by the learned trial Court. Hearing of argument has not commenced due to several adjournments taken by the prosecution. Since the matter is pending for quite some time and evidence is concluded, the learned trial Court is directed to conclude argument prior to the ensuing annual vacation of the Court, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. The learned Magistrate is at liberty to fix as many dates as required for hearing the argument but shall not exceed the time frame granted for conclusion of argument.

Accordingly, the revisional application being CRR 3089 of 2024 is disposed of.
