Petitioner is aggrieved by the torture inflicted upon him and his wife by his son.

State has submitted a report.

Having considered that the petitioner and his wife are the senior citizens, I direct that the Inspectorin-Charge/Officer-in-Charge of the jurisdictional police station would depute a lady police personnel who would every alternate day for a period of four weeks visit the residence of the petitioner and enquire as to whether any harassment or humiliation has been inflicted at the behest of the son and/or his associates.

This arrangement will continue for a period of four weeks. In the meantime, petitioner, if so advised, will approach the appropriate authorities under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. If any order is passed by the appropriate authorities, police authorities would respect and obey such order passed by the authorities.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 18876 of 2024 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
