The CESC authorities will ensure supply of electric connection to the petitioner, upon the petitioner complying with all necessary formalities, within two months from the date of such compliance. The objection of the respondent no. 4 is that the DTP box is adjacent to the entrance of the respondent no. 4 and there is an anticipation of fire hazards.

Learned advocate for the CESC authorities submits that on the complaint filed by the respondent no. 4, a special inspection was done with regard to the safety and security issue and it was found that all safety norms had been maintained. It appears that the DTP box is around 8 feet away from

the entrance of the respondent no. 4 and not on the land of the respondent no. 4.

Under such circumstances, the respondent no.

4 cannot have any objection to the supply of electricity to the petitioner. However, it is made clear that the safety norms shall be maintained and the possibility of any fire hazard shall be looked into by the CESC authorities by continuing periodical maintenance work.

If the CESC authorities are disturbed in discharge of their public function, the police authority shall assist them at the cost of the petitioner.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.

Parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
