The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023. He claims that he was declared as the winning candidate but the election certificate was not issued in his favour. The same has been issued in favour of somebody else.

The petitioner lodged complaint before the State Election Commission on 18th July, 2023 and alleges that the same has not been considered till date. The Panchayat General Elections were held on 8th July, 2023 and the result of election was declared on 11th July, 2023.

Had the petitioner been declared as the winner and the certificate not issued in his favour, he ought to

have approached before the appropriate authority immediately.

From the documents annexed to the writ petition, it appears that he applied before the Commission on 18th July, 2023 i.e. long after the declaration of the result.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant case.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
