The present writ petition seeks a direction upon the learned Tribunal to expedite the disposal of the Original Application (in short, OA), being OA 559 of 2009 (LRTT).

Mr. Sanyal, learned advocate for the petitioners, submits that the parties have exchanged pleadings and submitted their written arguments, yet the OA has not been disposed of. He alleges that the respondents have repeatedly sought unnecessary adjournments.

However, Mr. Chakraborty, learned advocate representing the respondent no. 1, denies and disputes such contention. Heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties. Perused the materials on record.

It appears that the OA has been pending since 2009. Since the parties have exchanged pleadings and submitted their written arguments, this writ petition is disposed of requesting

the learned Tribunal to make a sincere endeavour to dispose of the OA on the returnable date, i.e., 23rd December 2024, or as expeditiously as possible, preferably within six weeks thereafter, without granting unnecessary adjournments to any of the parties.
