23.08.2022 S/L No.65 KS C.R.R. 2574 of 1999 Pratap Roy -Vs.- The State of West Bengal Ms. Ratna Ghosh .....For the State The present revisional application was preferred in connection with a bail relating to Special Case No.45 of 1999 under the relevant provisions of the Essential Commodities Act arising out of Kotwali (Jalpaiguri) Police Station Case No.395 dated 12.10.1999.

Records reflect that when the revisional application was preferred the petitioner was in custody. However, there was no persuasion of the case. As none appeared on behalf of the State, Ms. Ratna Ghosh, learned advocate who ordinarily represents on behalf of the State is directed to represent the case. Her appointment may be regularized by the concerned authority.

Having regard to the fact that the subject-matter relates to an application for bail and the same has not been persuaded the last 22 years and no information has been furnished before this Court regarding the present stage of the case, I am of the opinion that the revisional application has become infructuous by lapse of time.

Accordingly, C.R.R. 2574 of 1999 is dismissed. Pending application, if any, is consequently disposed of. All parties are directed to act on the server copy of this order downloaded from the official website of this Hon'ble Court.
