The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023. He submits that the counting process of the votes was stalled midway by the observer, but thereafter, the petitioner was not intimated with regard to the countig.

The petitioner submits that at the time of taking oath, the petitioner got to know that the result was declared.

From the documents annexed to the writ petition, it appears that a prayer for re-poll was submitted before the Panchayat Returning Officer on 14th July, 2023. The result of the election being declared on 11th July, 2023, the prayer made by the petitioner seeking re-poll on 14th July, 2023 cannot be accepted.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant case.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
