The petitioner is aggrieved by the inactions on the part of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company. According to the petitioner, the distribution company had not transferred the existing meter to the name of the petitioner. The petitioner purchased the property along with the existing connection from the erstwhile owner. According to the distribution company, change of the name would take place once an application is filed in accordance with law and the outstanding dues are paid by the person who has purchased the property, on an as is where is and whatever is basis.

It appears that the petitioner has already approached the Regional Grievance Redressal Officer on March 10, 2022. Such grievance is still pending. This Court is not inclined to make any observation on the merits of the issue involved in this writ petition.

This Court directs the Regional Grievance Redressal Officer to dispose of the complaint of the petitioner upon hearing the petitioner and the representative of the distribution company. The decision shall be taken within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to all.

With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of.

All parties are to act on the basis of server copy of this order.
