The grievance raised in this public interest petition is that there is a cricket ground situated in the middle of the Bon Gheri, which is used by the local residents for fresh air and also as a playground. The allegation is that it is being excavated by the respondent no.5 i.e.
the East Kolkata Wetland Management Authority.
When the petition is taken up today, learned counsel for the petitioner has pointed out that the representation dated 6th August, 2022 has been filed before the Secretary, East Kolkata Wetland Management Authority, but no action is taken in this
regard.
After filing the representation, sufficient time has not lapsed, therefore, the petitioner is not justified in approaching this Court hurriedly without waiting for the outcome of representation.
Be that as it may, since the representation is already made by the petitioner, therefore, the concerned authority is expected to decide the said representation expeditiously.
The public interest petition is accordingly disposed of.
