Mandal ...for the Petitioners Mr. Pantu Deb Roy, Mr. Subrata Guha Biswas ...for the State 02-09-2025 AKG Ct. 15 It is the grievance of the petitioners that they made a representation before the Regional Transport Authority, South 24 Parganas, praying that no further contract carriage permits be granted in respect of auto rickshaws on route no. 322 (Rajpur Kareganga to Raghunathpur via Ghoshalpur, Pradip Battala, Megacity Natun Bazar). Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that, owing to congestion on the said route, many auto rickshaw drivers are facing difficulties in plying their vehicles. It is further alleged that the grievance of the petitioners has not been considered by the Regional Transport Authority, South 24 Parganas.

In view of the above, I find no justification to keep this writ petition pending. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Regional Transport Authority, South 24 Parganas, respondent no. 2, to consider the representation of the petitioners in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from

the date hereof.

While doing so, the Regional Transport Authority, South 24 Parganas, shall afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and all other concerned parties, including the local administration.

Accordingly, WPA 18195 of 2025 stands disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
