It appears that pursuant to the order dated June 20, 2025, passed in WPA 12902 of 2025 (Md. Abdur Rakib @ Md. Abdul Rakib vs. West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited and Ors.), a final order of assessment was made by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) on July 22, 2025, demanding a sum of ₹1,86,131/- from the petitioner.

Subsequently, a corrigendum order to the said assessment was issued on August 18, 2025. Learned advocate representing WBSEDCL submits that the corrigendum order was served upon the petitioner on August 25, 2025.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner assails the final order of assessment by raising various factual disputes. In my view, such disputes need not be entertained by this Court in view of the appellate remedy available under Section 127 of the Electricity Act, 2003. Accordingly, this writ petition is not entertained. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to prefer an appeal before the Appellate Authority against the final order of assessment within a period of thirty (30) days from date.

Accordingly, WPA 18651 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
