The petitioner, who is a member of the panchayat, has made allegations in respect of certain irregularities and illegalities committed during implementation of the Social Forestry Plantation Project under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the Lower Bagdogra Gram Panchayat.

The record reflects that a mass petition/representation has already been submitted before the Executive Officer, Naxalbari Panchayat Samity. Learned counsel for the State has fairly submitted that there is no objection in deciding the representation within the time-bound period.

Hence, we dispose of the present petition directing the aforesaid Executive Officer to decide the pending representation as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

WPA 17548 of 2014 Learned counsel for the State is directed to send a copy of this order to the aforesaid Executive Officer expeditiously.

The petition is accordingly disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
