Notice has been served on the Office of the Government Pleader, High Court, Calcutta despite whereof there is no appearance on its behalf. A copy of the said notice is kept with the record.

The police have been left to defend the case against themselves. The report of the police indicates that five FIRs have been transferred to the Economic Affairs Wing of the State and are being investigated thereat. It further indicates that three other FIRs are still pending, of which two FIRs are before the Harwood Point Coastal Police Station, Sundarban Police District.

The report of the police clearly indicates eight cases pending against the writ petitioner as on date. It further appears that about three months ago, Section 3 of the West Bengal Protection of Interest of Depositors in Financial Establishment Act, 2013 has been included in one FIR.

This Court is the view that the respondent no.3, namely, Superintendent of Police, Sundarban Police District, may take a decision as regards the clubbing and or transfer of the three FIRs being Harwood Point Coastal Police Station Case No. 250 of 2022 dated 01.07.2022, Harwood Point Coastal Police Station Case No. 213 of 2022 dated 15.07.2022 and Harwood Point Coastal Police Station Case No. 192 of 2022 dated 31.05.2022 to one I.O. for ease of investigation. If the Superintendent of Police, Sundarban Police District is inclined to do so, he may pass appropriate orders.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
