Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner applied for a new electricity connection from the Distribution Company in the year 2017, but the same was delayed in view of the Distribution Company being of the opinion that, in order to give such connection, a new transformer had to be installed in the vicinity. Subsequently, such transformer has already been installed and the petitioner renews the petitioner's prayer for electric connection.

Learned counsel for the Distribution Company, in his usual fairness, concedes to the fact that a transformer has been installed in the area and there is no impediment on such ground, at present, to give the new connection to the petitioner, subject to compliance of other requisites. However, since the application filed in 2017 is not traceable in the records of the Distribution Company, WPA 19374 of 2021 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to apply afresh for new electric connection

to the premises-in-question within a period of seven days from date.

If such an application is made, the Distribution Company shall take expeditious steps for inspection and giving of new connection in the event the petitioner is otherwise found eligible.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
