Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioner is for expeditious disposal of proceedings of GR (S) 145 of 2023 pending before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 6th Court, Calcutta (presently redesignated as the learned Judicial Magistrate, 6th Court, Calcutta), the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite parties. The opposite parties shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case. It appears that the dates were fixed by the learned trial Court for consideration of charge but charge could not be considered due to absence of the accused.

The learned trial Court is directed to dispose of the matter as expeditiously as the business of the learned Court would permit, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

Accordingly, CRR 3142 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Suvra Ghosh, J.)
