The petitioner is seeking appointment on compassionate ground in the Post & Telegraph Department on the ground of his father's death-inharness on 10th March, 2013. The writ petition has been filed on 29th July, 2024.

Without going into the merits, it is prima facie apparent that the petitioner's father during his life time held a civil post under the Union. The petitioner is seeking compassionate appointment which is linked with the services of the petitioner's father. In view of the provisions of Section 14 read with the provisions of Sections 28 and 3(q) of the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985, this Court does not have the jurisdiction to receive, try and determine the writ petition.

The writ petition is accordingly dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to file afresh on the self-same cause before the appropriate forum, if otherwise eligible in law.

The time spent between 29th July, 2024, being the date of filing of the writ petition and today (22.08.2024) shall be construed to have been proceeded in a bona fide manner in prosecuting a case before a court without jurisdiction.
