The petitioner seeks an order of re-poll.

The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023. He complains of massive rigging and violence on the day of the poll.

An application was made before the Panchayat Returning Officer on 13th July, 2023 praying for re-poll. Fact remains that the election was conducted on 8th July, 2023 and the result of the election was declared on 11th July, 2023. At such a distant date, it will not be fair to allow the prayer of the petitioner for conducting re-poll. In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant case.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
