The application of the petitioner for obtaining house connection for water supply for domestic purpose is pending consideration at the end of the Burdwan Municipality since January 2022.

The petitioner filed several reminders but none of them have been answered by the Municipality.

Learned advocate appearing for the Municipality submits that steps will be taken for consideration of the said application.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Chairman of Burdwan Municipality to take steps for consideration of the application made by the petitioner for obtaining domestic water connection in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date communication of a copy of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner, immediately thereafter. The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
